Pizza Wraps
I love pizza but whenever I’m craving it I don’t want to spend ages preparing the dough. This recipe is a really fast alternative. Its also a healthier option and makes a filling meal. They’re a great lunch or dinner idea and lately I’ve developed and obsession with them. Pizza wraps are so easy and straightforward to make. Also if you have any vegetables that are near their sell-by date, it’s a convenient way to use them up.
All you need for this is a wrap, pizza sauce and toppings of your choice. I like to make my own sauce. For this you need;
PIZZA SAUCE
- a can of chopped tomatoes (passata)
- a can of tomato puree
- basil (I like to use fresh basil as I feel it gives more flavour but dried basil is fine too)
- cloves of garlic (I use 2-3 but this depends on your personal preference)
- a sprinkling of pepper
- 1 chopped onion (optional – fry in a pan with the garlic)
Fry the onions in a large saucepan. Then place all the ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. This makes a lot of pizza sauce. I always make a big batch and store it in jars in the fridge. This way it’s quick and readily available. This sauce can be used in pasta too.

HOW TO MAKE THE WRAP PIZZA
Choose any wrap of your choice. I’m just use ones from my local supermarket. Place it on a circular pizza tray or if you don’t have one of those any flat baking tray will do. Spread some pizza sauce over the wrap with a spoon to smooth it out.
Grate any cheese of your choice. I am grating cheddar.
You can be really creative with the next step.
For this pizza wrap I took a slice of ham out of the fridge and tore it into thin strips. I cut up some chorizo into thin slices and fried them in a pan to make them crispy. I am a lover of Chorizo and I think it works really well in this recipe as it gives the pizza some extra flavour.
I took out a handful of fresh parsley that I grow in my garden and chopped it up along with some peppers and scallions, and then I sprinkled it over the pizza.
Sometimes, I also add spinach but I didn’t have any in my fridge. Spinach is so good for you and this is an easy way to get your greens in. You can also chop up some cherry tomatoes and mushrooms and add them as well. Pesto is also really nice with this combination. I added a small bit to this pizza.
TOP TIP
For some extra flavour and if you’re like me and are a lover of spicy food, add some tobasco sauce/hot sauce and paprika.
Preheat the oven to the 180 degrees, place your pizza on the shelf and cook for 10-15 mins depending on how crispy you want it to be . Cook until the crust is brown and crispy (that’s how I like it anyway). Use a pizza cutter (or if you’re like me and can’t :L then use a knife) to cut into slices and enjoy ☺
