Afternoon tea at Griffin’s
Today, I went to ‘Griffin’s Garden Centre’ with my Mum and Granny for lunch. It was such a beautiful day, a bit chilly, but thankfully no rain! It has been raining non-stop in Cork at the moment so it was nice to get out and enjoy a bit of sunshine, even if it was a cold. I had never been there before and I must say, the food was quite tasty.
Mum had the cajun chicken panini, Gran had hake and I had the chicken and black pudding salad.
We all had a little nibble of each others to taste. Afterwards, we decided to treat ourselves to some dessert. Mum had apple crumble, Gran had apple pie and I had a cupcake. They have a lovely selection of deserts including pavlova, chocolate cake and lemon meringue pie.

I also ordered a pot of herbal tea. It was Wild Berry flavour from Java Republic. If you are into berry tea I would recommend this one. I have tried a good few of their teas before as they sell them in the Main Rest Canteen in College and this is by far my favourite flavour of theirs. Their tea bags are so pretty as well. They are hand-stitched and the contents are organic.
There were so many beautiful flowers. The place looked so vibrant with the array of colours.
The primroses were only €1.27 a pot!
So, of course, we got some for the garden.
I loved the way they used an old car and planted shrubs and flowers in it. So pretty!
We also met a few feathered friends. One was particularly fond of my phone :L
I found it really odd that they sell hand bags and purses in a garden centre but look at this clutch! I love the embellishment and the crown clasp. It would be the perfect accessory for a formal event.
I noticed that they had lovely decorative bits for Easter. I thought that these wreaths were really cute. You could hang them on your front door or put some flowers in the middle and use it as a centre piece.
They also had another wreath in the shape of a heart that is a bit smaller. The straw rabbit is adorable too!!
I would recommend taking a visit out to Griffin’s if you get the chance. Give your garden some love and while you’re at it visit ‘The Spinning Wheel Restaurant.’ Sit by the window like we did and look out at all the beautiful flowers. It would be an ideal place for a girls day out or even a Communion.
